yet another award...

Seven things about me... Hmmm i did this before... i'm doing it again....

1)  i'm an introvert and love to be alone almost all the time.

2)  of late, blogging has become my favourite thing to do... i love you guys!

3) i prayed that God would keep me from the corporate world...and He puts me right there...i've yet to understand why but i'm sure i will someday and i let His will be....:)

4) whenever i watch football... i always end up supporting the team thats losing. i know how it feels to lose...:(

5) i hardly shop. i do...may be once or twice in months...am i a weird girl?

6) i have more books than clothes. is that a normal thing at all???

7) i love flowers... and this very moment i'm sad and i'm grieving because my neighbour's dog messed up my Impatience and  Bougainvillea...this is the second time it happens and i'm ready to teach this neighour how to train his dog... i wish i can show you picture of the mess but i lent my Camera to a friend...:( you'd be mad too if you see it.

Woo Hoo...!!! my project is finally complete and i can now sit and relax and SMILE.......aaaaaahhh....


i couldn't have done it alone... i sought God's help. the moment i did, i could see He jumped right in.... and He never fails anyone who seeks Him no matter where you are... no matter what it is for. when anything begins with Him it is well begun and a well beginning is half done!! 

i wrote and posted the poem above last year... thought of reposting it anyways... i'm linking this post to Spiritual Sundays  ... i'm joining some amazing friends Charlotte and Ginger

i am thankful

because i can do all things through Him who strengthens me

these past few days have been very hectic for me...and that means work as early as 8am till as late as midnight. i've woken up each morning only to feel blur and blue... with ever increasing work load , and   pigheadedness among peers... it has been aggravating and passion for work is a remote feeling. i've been mulling over many unpleasant interactions...gripped by utter contempt.when all i feel is crushed and dejected, my boss assigned a monstrous project! projects are fun but its deadline makes me panicky ALL the time.  so, when she said "Ruth i couldn't think of anyone more efficient than you are", i thought  "yeah right, like i don't know you take advantage of me when i show some respect and obey." 

but this morning, before i swung myself out of the bed... i lay a while and stared at the ceiling.... in my mind, scheming how to go about with the project.  and something clicked....!! i was angry 'cause i always had to do the most... was always picked when urgency calls. and now i know why... 

and how, oh how could i be still and not thank God for promises so great as these? ~ Ps 112:7 & Is 41:10

"thank you God... for Your faithfullness...

morning by morning i see Your new mercies!

thank You for making me realize 

that when my boss gives me projects 

and says she trusts me,

she sees NOT ME but YOU in me.

 i'm sorry i took time to realize that! 

i know i can't do this alone 

but  YOU and I, together CAN... so lets go!!"

so..........., i'm a book worm

i love going for a long ride in the wee hours of the morning

i love being alone and i can't stand boisterous people

i'm not very fond of animals... but i like birds

and i detest talking over the phone.

sometimes i intentionally don't answer calls and i end up feeling guilty..:)

i thank all of you for stopping by... your sweet comments have overwhelmed me .I'm thankful!!

a generous God

yesterday,
there was an emergency...i had to give away all that i have to a friend of mine. i couldn't say no...i couldn't have it otherwise. i have no clue what made me say 'yes' but i did. after i'd said 'yes' and hung up, i realized what i had just done. i had just agreed to give away all that i have left to see us (my brother and me) through the month. i still have to buy groceries and other stuff... my kitchen was literally empty and needed filling...but i was not worried...i wondered why. what i felt instead, was some kind of joy indescribable.

what happened next was simply AMAZING... should i say a miracle?.. yes i think i should. i think it is... i believe so. i called up one of my very close friends to say hi.... but was told that he has a coupon and had been wanting to give me. my heart leapt... i was left teary-eyed. now i have enough and more to see us through the month... till my next pay check comes along. 

what i'm trying to say here is... i love how generous God is... He is so ridiculously generous and mindful of everything we do for His name's sake. He certainly is not joking when He says...

"Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." ~ Luke 6:38 

AND

"Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver."~ 2 Corinthians 9:7 

what He has to return is far better and in endless amounts...it always surpasses what we give away. He has endless supplies to give us... but we must first learn to give so as to receive them. 

"The value of our offering is not determined by how much we give, but how we give."

Smile Sunday

Beautiful Mama Hen at Mama's Little Chick is hosting a Smile Sunday Party. She's dedicating it to her late Father. So Hop on and join us in the party 'cause there nothing as beautiful as Smiles...:)

I too am dedicating this post to my Daddy who taught me how to SMILE. For me, he's the best dad i ever known. He has a ready smile on his face that lights up the room the moment he walks in. My friends from hometown would say that he is the friendliest Dad. They like coming to my house. They like meeting him and listening to him 'cause he makes them smile too. When you meet him on the way, before he says Hello he'd flash his most beautiful smile.

Daddy and i are separated by many mountains and valleys. I'm too far away to see that smile today but i got to hear it over the Phone. It may still be a Saturday night for many of you but it is Sunday morning for me. I called my Dad to wish him a Happy Father's Day, to tell him how much i love him and miss being with him and smile together with him. And we shared our best smiles over the phone. Yes, daddy's smile is written all over his words too. He's my source of joy on this earth. oh, my eyes are blurred with tears. i might even bawl. i miss my dad so very much. Here's a picture to show you my daddy's smile....

thats my dad with mom and my brothers. they smile so beautifully don't they? I'm not in it 'cause i was busy clicking...:)). Please excuse this not so clear picture. I'm still trying to be a better photographer.... LOL.

Getting to Know You Sunday...

2. The best thing I ever won is....?.... Idol Idienne title plus the ipod and 5k cash award back in January 2006. it was a singing competition(in French) organised by  Indian Association of Teachers of French.
3. Have you ever skyped with a bloggy friend?.... No.
4. What is your favorite Summer month?.... July. no reason whatsoever but i do love July!
5. Pool, Lake, or Ocean?.... Pool with lots of lotus and water lilies...:-)
6. One of my favorite Summer memories is.....?.... Summer Camping in a forest back in June 2007. I will never forget the night we girls lay under a tree watching the night sky.... we talked through the night .
7. What's your favorite secret bargain?.... i'm not much into shopping. i let my mom shop for  me..:( but for the now it'd have to be Tibetan Flea Market.... you get varieties there... tops, pants, shoes , sandals, scarfs... name it!!
8. Do you plan on or have you been watching the World Cup?.... certainly yes.  i cheered for Korea Republic during their match against Greece.... and they won!! i'm totally into soccer...:)

A friend of mine is celebrating his birthday today,

so after church we met up at KFC where i enjoyed 

my favourite Zinger Burger 

then we went over to coffee day

where i enjoyed an awesome strawberry blush

and i have to share this...

a lovely card that i bought for the birthday boy.

i walked into Archies....

my eyes fell on this card!

i didn't look around...

didn't think to look twice.

i just grabbed that and went over to the billing counter.

and yay...the birthday boy loves it...:-)

to see if there were better ones

but decided to buy it???

it's been a happy Sunday for me.

sweet Sovina from Weddings on the Cards left me a comment yesterday encouraging me to try Saree. honestly, i am more a Jeans and a T-shirt girl and i'm way too lazy to dress up. but i do fancy Sarees... especially the elegant embroidered ones...while googling this morning, i found these beautiful ones that i began to drool over...

 i seriously don't mind filling up my bed with them!

its a beautiful Saturday morning,

the sun seems to have yet to decide whether or not to shine today.

i'm having a splitting  headache...:(

but i'm not going to let it spoil my day.

so i decided to treat myself 

and spread out some new pillow covers 

that i like so much...

i bought them from Westside

so, les voilà........

i love the flowery designs... 

and the blue borders.

temptation is strong...

i might end up spending the entire day snuggling into these pillows....

red friday...

i'm taking a day off today,

so woke up late. while still on bed

i put on one of my favourite songs "Lady in Red" by Eric Clapton....

then i found myself admiring these....
