good friday....

"It's a Good Friday for me too", said my non Christian friend.... all of us turned to him and threw questioning looks....he grinned and answered..."Cause my boss isn't coming to work tomorrow". well, we laughed...but his joke brought back to mind, something so precious God had taught me a couple days ago.

 i was about an hour ahead... was done with my work for the day... so i took a little more than half an hour to catch up with a good friend of mine, which my boss obviously didn't approve of. when i got back, he walked up to my work station and reprimanded me. as i waited for him to finish his lectures, reminding me of the dos and don'ts blah blah blah, i had sarcastic apologies, rebellious answers and explanations lined up in my mind. i had them ready to blurt out. the moment i was about to open my mouth to fight, i was reminded of the verses i had read that morning....

“Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves” (Rom. 13:1-2) 

you see, i so love the fact that God hears our prayers and answers us. He uses His word to speak to us... to teach us and to keep us on the right track... He keeps us from falling into temptation when we mean it in our hearts when we pray "...and lead us not into temptation...".

God has been using His words to speak to my heart... crystal clear. Has God been using His words to speak to you too? It'd be nice and encouraging to hear your story...:-)
